Peripheral and tissue B cells: what a biopsy can tell us about other tissues

How well do peripheral blood B-cell measurements track tissue B cells, and how well does a biopsy from one tissue describe what is happening in another? The initial focus is depletion and recovery after B-cell-directed therapy in autoimmune disease, including the sampling and assay limits of a negative biopsy.
